Letter of Recommendation Requirements
Emory accepts committee letters and individual letters. Most applicants submit three to five letters including two science faculty letters and one or two letters from clinical, research, or community supervisors. Up to six letters are generally accepted through AMCAS.
Who Should Write Your Letters
Science faculty who can speak to intellectual rigor and research potential, combined with clinical or service supervisors who have observed patient interaction and professionalism, form the most effective letter packages for Emory. Letters from people who have worked with the applicant over at least one semester or project cycle are more credible than brief acquaintance letters.
